What to pack in the swim bag:

• 2-3 towels
• Cap (if needed)
• Goggles (and an extra pair if you can)
• Money for snack bar
• Comb or brush (if needed)
• Sweatshirt and sweatpants (or equivalent)
• Plastic bag
• Dry change of clothes
• Sharpie
• Things to do while waiting to swim – books, cards, Legos, Polly Pockets, matchboxes or portable video games all work well

What to do when you arrive:

• Check-in with a coach so he/she knows the swimmer is here and ready to swim
• Set up swimmer with age group (the 8 and under and 10 and under swimmers stay with their age group throughout the meet)
• Check line-up and use Sharpie to write on swimmer’s hand : race #, lane #, heat #, stroke
• Pick your spot to watch and cheer on the Gators!
• Volunteers should check-in with the Volunteer Coordinator

The Bullpen

Swimmers are to remain in the bullpen for the entire meet, sit with their age group and should be lined up three events ahead of their event.

Parents should help their younger swimmers to write down and understand their events and more importantly, should be aware during the meet where their children are and when their children need to report to the Bullpen. The Bullpen is there to help young kids get behind the right blocks for their swim event. They are not responsible for locating the swimmer or responsible for missed races. Many younger swimmers can roam around swim clubs, snack bars and locker rooms. The Bullpen volunteers cannot leave their posts to search for wandering swimmers. All swimmers are to report to the Bullpen area when they see their event number is due. Every effort is made to line the swimmers up correctly and in a timely manner.

The line-up of individuals swimming in each event will be posted at the swim meet in our team area. Individuals should locate their names in the line-up and write down their event numbers, and the heat & lane that they will swim in that event.

Individuals over 10 years of age are responsible for reporting to their event on time and to the correct lane. They may ask any adult volunteer for help if they are unsure where to go.
