GCC Gators - Declarations are OPEN! Plus other Important Information
Dear Gator Families,
Our annual Green & White Meet is on Tuesday 6/16! Declarations are open for the Green & White Meet on Tuesday, and our first away meet at Whitpain Greens on Thursday.
For those new to the team, the Green & White Meet is a Time Trials Meet - no visiting team, just Gators. This is how we get baseline times for each swimmer for the season, which is crucial for the coaches to set accurate line-ups for upcoming meets.
Each swimmer will compete in 4 individual events (one of each stroke). Even if your swimmer hasn’t mastered all 4 strokes, they can swim whatever stroke they are comfortable with. It’s a low pressure, high energy night that kicks off our season!
Attendance is highly encouraged! Meets are more fun and run more smoothly when we have strong team participation. We are very excited that our registration numbers are way up this year! This is going to be a great season! Our swimmers have been putting in the hard work, let’s bring that energy to our first meet!
Equipment Reminder:
Please make sure your swimmer is prepared with goggles and team suit. A good pair of competitive goggles help swimmers perform their best, protect their eyes, prevent leaks, and stay in place when starting off the blocks.
The Green and White Meet is also team picture night - please remember to wear your team suit. Goggles and Team Suits are available at Toad Hollow in Paoli. Tell them you are with GCC.
Swim Caps & Spirit Wear:
Spirit Wear orders have been placed. We are still accepting swim cap purchases and will have another order delivered this week, and will make them available at the next several events. Please see Aimee Stabley poolside for purchase.
Swim Caps are optional, but they do serve a purpose - they reduce drag, keep hair in place, and help secure goggles during dives and turns.
Meet Volunteers:
We can't run the meet without these positions being filled. Thank you in advance for your help! Please sign-up: Volunteer Sign Up
Swim Meet Declarations (Very Important):
In order for the coaches to prepare the line-up for the meet, we will need every swimmer to declare if they are attending this meet or not. Please declare either way so all swimmers are accounted for when making the meet entry.

- Click the Green Meet Entry box on the right side for the Green & White Meet

Ralph’s Famous BBQ Buffet:
While the meet is running, there will be a BBQ buffet with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, french fries and watermelon available for purchase ($15++ per adult member. $10++ per child member 4 to 12 years old) on the lawn for everyone to enjoy. This can be charged to your member account and counts toward your food minimum.
Bake Table: A huge hit at our home meets and a fan favorite! A separate email will be sent - details to follow.
Ice Cream Social:
Immediately following the last event of the meet, we will have our annual Ice Cream Social for all swimmers, siblings and families. The team will provide vanilla ice cream and lots of toppings. We will need a few parents to help scoop and monitor the toppings so they last for the entire group. Please respond back to me if you are able to help with this fun event. Thank you in advance!!!
This is a super fun way to reward our swimmers for putting in the hard work and kick off the season in style!
Please let me know if you have questions.
Thank you! Go Gators!
