Practice Policies
Parent Drop-Off Policy
Parents may drop off swimmers for practice provided that swimmers follow the team’s code of conduct and are able to remain responsible and respectful while on deck. Parents must also ensure they arrive on time for pick-up at the end of practice.
Attendance
We know summer schedules can be busy and conflicts may occasionally come up. However, regular attendance is important for swimmers to continue improving their skills and building confidence in the water.
We recommend swimmers attend at least three to four practices per week. Consistent participation not only helps swimmers improve faster, but also allows them to develop stronger friendships and a greater sense of team spirit.
Weather & Practice Cancellations
Practices will typically be held as scheduled unless thunder, lightning, or extremely heavy rain makes it unsafe to be in the pool.
If practice needs to be cancelled or adjusted due to weather, families will be notified through email and Swimtopia.
If a storm develops during practice and the pool must be cleared, swimmers will gather under the Gator Grill until conditions improve. Families will be notified and may need to return to the pool to pick up their swimmer if practice is cancelled.
Please note that if thunder or lightning occurs, the pool must remain closed for 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning before swimming can resume.
